Nature, Friends, Wine and Fashion! What more can you want!

Last Friday I did the opposite to what most people would be doing at about 6pm. I left the hustle and bustle of the city noise and bars and headed towards the tranquillity of the mountain backdrops in the Yarra Valley. My fashionable companion on this mini road trip was my good friend James Nolen who had a rather special jacket to launch at the event. As you will see below, it's quite luminous and reflected the backdrop beautifully. We were on our way to a rather unique fashion event, where unlike most which are set in urban surrounds, this one was being held at the picturesque Yering Station Cellar Door Gallery space.
Yering proudly partnered up with Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) to celebrate emerging designers, a cause they are rather fond of supporting which is great to hear. This New Designer Exhibition showcases the work of the next generation of designers, which I always think is exciting to see the progression of. The designers featured include current Project Runway Australia winner Christina Exie, Oracles, Raggat and J.K.Kirk. The gallery space is inviting and set up with photographs on the wall as well as garments on mannequins with a bar serving out drinks for our Friday night happy hour. It was a very relaxed occasion for a launch and those in attendance would agree it made for a nice change to regular fashion events with nature as the backdrop and the rustic white brick walls encasing the exhibit. I had such a great time exploring the winery surrounds before the exhibit and watching the light change the landscape and meeting up with wonderful such people. It was very invigorating! Or was that the wine? It is currently being held for a month I believe so if you feel like a country retreat for an afternoon with great views, great wine, and great fashion, I'd say it's worth the trek. Congratulations to the City of Melbourne and MSFW for highlighting and showcasing once again our emerging designers.
