Not sure how you can feel pretty wearing that and I certainly don't like walking into stores nowadays where all I can smell is a waft of chemicals, plastics and synthetics. No thanks. So my hope is that more designers embrace ways to incorporate ethical and sustainable practises to create their designs and that consumers start to become more discerning and demand quality over quantity. It would be nice if we didn't have to label designers by their ethical practises but rather that everyone was doing it so it didn't need to be defined in any way. One day...
The evening was hosted by Melbourne blogger and designer Connie Cao from K is for kani, the colourful floral headpieces seen on the models below. I loved the use of colour throughout the show and the styling with accessories as well as the gorgeous prints to get you in the mood for Summer. It was a great night and great show and hope you enjoy a sample of what is on offer out there.
The evening ended with a competition of student designers showcasing their garments.
The winner Caroline Tan accepting prize money from Bendigo Bank. Well done, Caroline, I loved the outfit, just wished I could have gotten a better close up photo of all the detail as there was so much to look at!
