Levi's rock the runway at MSFW

This is a show I look forward to- being a free show is a bonus indeed, but the Levi's runway show at the MSFW hub in the city square always draws a fashionable crowd both on and of the stage.
I absolutely love denim as I think it just looks good on anyone and is easy to dress up or down. Levi's have been carving out great denim ensembles year after year and their clothes tell a story for me which is what I love-and rather appeals to the tomboy in me.

Levi's rocks my world

One of the highlights of MSFW is that if you can't afford to attend the main runway shows at the Town Hall, you can still see some great fashion on the runway for free with daily free shows held at the City Square. I unfortunately missed a lot of them because I was watching fashion films at ACMI (you can't be at two fashion spots at once) but I was thrilled to be able to catch the Levi's show which I was looking forward to. I must say I am already a fan of this label as it fits within my 'look' which is denim, denim and then some more denim! And yes- I have double dipped my denim- both in the 80's with an acid wash ensemble and of late, mixing denim hues and accessories. I just love it, and I think you can make it work, as this runway show can attest. Levi's is all about a relaxed look, but still put together and giving the wearer the chance to feel comfortable, fitted and yet presentable. This show was obviously inspired by 'On the road' with movies once again influencing fashion, and had a story of the traveller and the effortless pieces you can wear while 'On the road', accompanied by a live band to set the 'youthful, edgy scene'. I do love the simplicity of a great cut jean and a striped t-shirt or a denim dress and a great pair of boots so it was a delight to see a wearable show that anyone can incorporate into their wardrobe.
Is it just me or is this model a spitting image of Johnny Depp!! Hello!!

Highlights of MSFW- @city square runways- Jigsaw Runway

Part three of the free City Square runway show was Jigsaw.
Again we saw great colour with bold print and stripes. Lace work on dresses also featured.
A great show that made me long for Spring as the Melbourne weather outside on the day was cold and blustery. Which made me wonder how long I would have to wait before getting the chance to wear the first outfit!

Beautiful, feminine and flowing.

Pop she goes!

Gorgeous stripe dress. Love love love it!!

A classic white suit, always tasteful.

Ending on a flirty little number.

The grand finale.

Highlights of MSFW- @city square runways- David Lawrence Runway

Part Two of the free City Square Runway show was David Lawrence.
Colour was certainly a strong point of this show with orange, green and pink, offset with whites and prints also featured. So nice to see so much block colour, the streets of Melbourne are going to look very sunny indeed!

A great stripe jacket to contrast the bold colour and white.

A very flattering dress perfect for any occasion.

Perfect outfit for the upcoming Spring Racing Season.
